Matrioschka Teddy Bear Set
 

The ornate shell of the Matrioschka is created in accordance with an old Russian tradition where only the strongest and most unblemished linden trees can be used. During an approximately 5-year maturing process, the wood is repeatedly moistened and dried to achieve the necessary stability. The Matrioschka is carved by hand out of a complete tree trunk in a laborious turning process. Like the subsequent painting operation, everything is performed by hand and the base of the largest Matrioschka bears is signed by the artist. This skilful technique rich in tradition provides the perfect reason why this Russian work of art is such a superb and fitting match for the cuddly little chaps who hide inside it: a Teddy bear made of the finest mohair and his two younger brothers, who even have their own Russian shells. The largest Teddy bear is wearing a lucky charm around his neck - a Matrioschka pendant.
