In 1904 Steiff were inspired by the need for novelties: the Overdachshund was made of black and yellow velvet, only 8 cm high but 22 cm long!  This illustrates that the Steiff family, which designed these fascinating and authentic animals, had a good sense of humour.  A larger version of this article was auctioned at the Steiff Festival for € 5,500.  The Overdachshund is a genuine rarity, and an eye-catcher in every collection.
 
The dachshund is 8cm high, has velvet fur & is stuffed with wood shavings with glass eyes & a gold-plated "Button in Ear".  Surface washable.
 
Not recommended for children under 3 years - detachable small parts which could be swallowed.
The glass eyes may get broken.
