Red Elephant 1909 Replica
 

Ever since Margarete Steiff created her first toy in 1880, a little elephant called "Elefantle", the elephant symbol has been associated with the Steiff company through its 125 year history.  This one in red mohair was originally made of felt until 1917 and then mohair for a further 10 years.  It is hand-stuffed with fine wood shavings, even down to the tusks!

This elephant is surface washable, hand stuffed with wood shavings and has glass eyes.
