Cockatoo Rattle 1898
 
This has been a classic rattle for more years than you can shake a cockatoo at!!  Until 1918 it was one of the most well known and loved baby rattles in the Steiff collection.  Made from felt, the first material that Margarete Steiff worked with, Steiff have made this lovely Cockatoo Rattle with hand sewn bells.  Since the Steiff trademark "Button in Ear" had not yet been introduced in 1898, this replica has the first official button with the elephant symbol.
